description

Error: TagCloud is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at WatchersNET.DNN.Modules.TagCloud.TagCloud.LoadModulSettings() at WatchersNET.DNN.Modules.TagCloud.TagCloud.InitializeComponent() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

No matter if i changed the settings. When i click dnn tags as choice for the tag cloud to find dnn tags without flash enabled. If i turn flash on along with dnn tag on then it shows blog module error.

A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Please fix this error. Dnn blog module and tagcloud module cannot seem to work together.

sportgal03 wrote Apr 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM

tag cloud is 1.9.3,
dnn blog module version is 4.1.0

tha_watcha wrote Apr 5, 2011 at 12:37 PM

Currently i can not reproduce this, it works on my test installs.

Did you select a Select the DotNetNuke Blog Module Instance: in the settings?

sportgal03 wrote Apr 5, 2011 at 3:35 PM

Yes i selected dnn tags in the tag cloud however i cannot seem to find dotnetnuke blog module instance.

tha_watcha wrote Apr 6, 2011 at 10:32 AM

Did you see that options on the screenshot i attached

sportgal03 wrote Apr 6, 2011 at 9:12 PM

Yes i saw it and i already selected dnn blog tags and select blogs. It still give me errors in the blog module.

tha_watcha wrote Apr 7, 2011 at 12:09 PM

Did you modify any other Setting in the TagCloud Module Settings, or is the rest Default?

If yes try create a new TagCloud Module Instance on the Page and set only the Blog Option

sportgal03 wrote Apr 7, 2011 at 8:26 PM

I did choose only dnn tags and it still shows the error. I will show you the screenshots.

sportgal03 wrote Apr 7, 2011 at 8:26 PM

tha_watcha wrote Apr 8, 2011 at 9:35 AM

Ah ok the error occurs in the blog module not the tag cloud module, so what is the complete error message from the log?

I'm on DNN 05.06.02 & just tried installing this for the first time on http://vashoneoc.org/Blogs.aspx and get this error too. After enabling site log, & getting the error again, I don't see any entries in the site log. Any suggestions?! Deleting the module solved the issue - but leaves me with the boring old tag cloud. I presume the two can co-exist with eachother - right?!

JohnPlex wrote Apr 20, 2011 at 4:07 PM

(I'm using latest stable version of this module, BTW.)

I just DISABLED FLASH and now the page at least loads without getting forced into "Design" mode. However now the module gives me:
Error: TagCloud is currently unavailable.

I attached a debug dll, that i can see where the error occurs please copy the dll in to your dnn bin folder.

There should be a txt file (clouddebugxxx.txt) generated in your Homedir folder (Portals/0/)

JohnPlex wrote Apr 21, 2011 at 3:10 PM

Thanks for your fast response! Adding the module now generates the following on the page itself. Given the message, I'm not surprised that clouddebugxxx.txt isn't in any of the top level directories. Feel free to just spit out the error message on the site: I can easily just install this temporarily.

PS, this is installed on portal/1, not portal/0 in case that is the issue.

tha_watcha wrote Apr 22, 2011 at 5:52 AM

I updated the attachment now the debug should work.

Is your portal id 1 a child portal or regular portal? maybe thats the issue- i check that

tha_watcha wrote Apr 22, 2011 at 7:43 AM

Finally i where able to reproduce this error. It should work now with the updated debug file

JohnPlex wrote Apr 22, 2011 at 11:59 AM

Rat. I still get the following. I forced a reload of the page and even restarted the application. Anything else to try?

Sorry, my mistake. I double checked and was still using the old DLL. This works like a champion!

Wow, I had no idea the cloud displayed as a moving 3D sphere. VERY nice!!! Thanks for your efforts.
